I am so glad for small miracles in our lives.
This week has been a hard one, Benjamin has been sick. He started with a fever of 104 on Wednesday after his nap. I gave him some tylenol and a bath in an attempt to bring down his fever. He seemed ok Wednesday night. Thursday morning he woke up with a fever of 104.5, again with the tylenol and a bath to cool down which brought the fever down to 102. We went in to see the peditrician and he was tested for strep, and an urinary track infection which both came back negative. They told me to alternate tylenol and motrin every 3 hours and come back on Friday.
Friday morning he woke up with new symptoms of diareah and a cough and again with a fever of 105, so we did the same routine and went back into the peditrician. Even with the alternating medication his fever never went below 101. I was getting very worried, but he was still acting happy. The Dr said it was probably was just a virus and needed to run his course. He was chasing the dogs and wanting to read his books. He hadn't eaten since Wednesday, but he was drinking.
He was up every couple of hours on Friday night and Saturday morning once again the fever was 104.5, but now he was just glassy eyed and not wanting to move. He wouldn't even drink anything, He just wanted to be held and cry. This is when I became very concerned and I took him to the Emergency room. They were less than helpful, the Dr told me that he looked good, he said he was making tears so he wasn't too dehydrated and they just gave him a dose of motrin and sent us home. (I'm sure that will be the most expensive motrin I've ever bought! :) )
My wonderful Mother in Law suggested that we give him a blessing. Wes was at work and had taken Thursday and Friday off with him because I had to work, so my MIL called and had my Brother in Law come and give Benjamin a blessing. I was very greatful for that. I don't really remeber what was said, but I did get a wonderful feeling of peace.
Within 30 min of his blessing his fever had gone down to 102, and within an hour it was down to 100. He was up walking around and he ate half an orange, half a cheese tortilla and drank quite a bit of pedialyte. Two hours later his temp was 99.
I know that he was able to get better because of the blessing. I am so greatful for the preisthood in our lives and the wonderful family I have to help me through my trials.

What a scary thing- however I too, am grateful for the priesthood. That power is amazing and I know it comes from our Heavenly Father. YEAH for miracles!
